Later We’ll whisk you away to discover the splendid gems of Oman’s capital, starting with the enchanting Royal Opera House, where the magic of architecture and cultural secrets unfold before your very eyes during our enthralling tour. Next, we dive into the vibrant heart of Muscat’s old quarter, offering a delightful, sensory-rich experience like no other. As we venture through the historical walls of Muscat, the majestic Al Alam Palace, a ceremonial jewel cherished by Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, beckons with its awe-inspiring design and strategic location nestled between the formidable Mirani and Jalali forts. A visit to the Bait Al Zubair Museum further enriches your cultural experience. We’ll continue our journey along the enchanting waterfront corniche, leading us to the famed Muttrah Souq, a bustling marketplace renowned as one of the Middle East’s most colorful and vibrant. Lose yourself in its intricate network of passages, brimming with a plethora of treasures, from exotic imported fabrics to aromatic Oriental spices, exquisite perfumes, and meticulously handcrafted artifacts.

Day 2: MUSCAT – NIZWA – JEBEL AKHDAR (B/_/D)

 

After a sumptuous breakfast at your Muscat hotel, Our first destination is none other than the grandeur of the Grand Mosque, a symbol of reverence and magnificence, where you can explore its serene beauty from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday. Please note, for our female guests, a graceful attire with head covering is appreciated, and we kindly ask that you avoid shorts, beachwear, or sleeveless outfits. We then move on to the breath taking Jebel Akhdar via Nizwa. Our first stop, the Nizwa Souq, will immerse you in a vibrant tapestry of colours, scents, and flavours, where you can shop for local handicrafts, spices, and fresh produce, making for a true sensory delight. As we move onward, the majestic Nizwa Fort will captivate your imagination with its towering presence and rich history, providing splendid panoramic views of the town below. Our next destination, the Bahla Pottery Workshops, will introduce you to the age-old art of pottery-making, where skilled craftsmen create beautiful pieces using techniques passed down through generations. Continuing our journey, we’ll discover the awe-inspiring Jabreen Castle, a true architectural masterpiece that houses secrets of Omani heritage within its walls. As the sun starts to set, we’ll head to Birkat Al Mouz, an oasis town surrounded by lush date palms, where you can explore the ancient ruins and the picturesque falaj system. Finally, our day culminates with an overnight stay in the cool heights of Jebel Akhdar, where you can revel in the tranquillity of the mountains and marvel at the endless starry sky above. This captivating day is bound to leave you with cherished memories of Oman’s cultural treasures and natural wonders.

DAY 03: EXPLORING THE BEST OF OMAN: FROM JABAL AKHDAR TO WAHIBA SANDS (B/_/D)

 

Get ready for an unforgettable day of adventure and discovery as you explore the best of Oman from Jabal Akhdar to Wahiba Sands.You’ll get to immerse yourself in the country’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. Begin your day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on a two-hour Village Walking tour of the stunning village of AL Aqar, AL Ain, and AL Shiraijah regions. Next, head to the Oman Across Ages Museum, which showcases the country’s rich history, culture, and economic growth over time, providing insight into Oman’s future. Your next destination is the fascinating abandoned village of Mudhayrib, where you can take some incredible photos before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant (cost excluded).

 

The highlight of your day is the majestic Wahiba Sands, a romantic desert with rolling sand dunes varying in color from deep red to rich honey. It is the traditional home of the Bedouin, spirited people who know how to survive in harsh desert conditions. Visiting a local Bedouin family house offers a unique opportunity to learn about their lifestyle and challenges of living in the Sands. You’ll be treated to traditional Omani coffee and dates during your visit.

 

Later, get ready for some excitement as you enjoy thrilling dune bashing over the mighty sand hills before checking in at the desert camp. Here, you’ll experience a traditional BBQ-style dinner under the starlit sky, followed by an unforgettable overnight stay at the Desert Camp

DAY 4: Exploring the Scenic Wadis of Oman (B/_/_)

 

Begin the day with a hearty breakfast and bid farewell to the camp and the desert, as we embark on an exciting journey to explore the enchanting Wadi Bani Khalid. This picturesque wadi is adorned with endless palm plantations, leading to magnificent cool and crystal-clear pools. Take a rejuvenating swim in the azure waters and indulge in the scenic beauty of the wadi. Lunch can be enjoyed at a local restaurant en route or at the wadi (cost excluded).

After lunch, explore the old African port of Sur, famous for its traditional dhow building. Witness the skilled craftsmen at work, building woode

n dhows using traditional tools. We will also visit photogenic spots in Sur like the lighthouse of Ayga and the pretty Corniche Road. Leaving Sur, drive past the Oman LNG plant and arrive in Qalhat, where you can view the ancient town’s ruins and Bibi Mariam’s tomb.

Drive further to Wadi Tiwi, a pretty wadi with sheer cliffs on both sides, forming the sidewalls. Witness small clusters of houses, forming small villages of farmers who grow various types of fruits and vegetables in the fertile bed of the wadi. A little further, explore the spectacular Wadi Shab with its lush green vegetation, where you can cross the wadi over a narrow bridge and explore the river bed. Swim out in the open at Fins Beach, a beach with white sand, and visit the natural crater in the limestone at Bimah Sinkhole. At the bottom of the sinkhole, take a dip in the clear green brackish water and snorkel.

on the way back to Muscat, make a final stop in the small fishing town of Quriyat before driving northward                                         along                   Wadi                   Hatat                   to                   reach                   Muscat.
